Supports: Change

Change, whether big or small, is an inevitable part of all of our lives. Fox’s story takes a loving and empathetic approach to discussing the changes and transitions that families may experience. Children learn that when changes happen, it’s okay to have big feelings. They can seek support when they need it and embrace all their emotions.

With Reflect & Connect questions at the end, caregivers are supported in deepening their child’s understanding of this important emotional skill.

The perfect book for times of transition

Change can be hard even for adults. Fox reminds us that it's normal to have different feelings because of a new disruption. If you're having another child or person enter the family, moving, or changing anything major in your child's life, this is a helpful book for preparing, coping, or connecting through the fog of stress. It is easy to stop at certain points when reading to talk with your child about their experience, outlets, or feelings they have had, worry they will have, and that it is normal. The kin and book would make a lovely baby shower gift for an older sibling.

    What an amazing book!

This was one of three books I bought for my toddler. I bought this one because we just had a baby (2 under 2, send help 😅) and she was having some trouble with the change of having a new baby at home. I wanted her to know that she will ALWAYS be loved and that it's okay to have big feelings about change. This book is an amazing tool that goes through that! And of the three books I got (Hammerhead Mad's not bad, and Bigfoot You are loveable), this one is her favorite and she asks for it again and again. Thank you for these amazing tools, Slumberkins! ❤️
